Why choose KShield Educational Journey for your Homeschooled Child?

Homeschooling is a parent-directed educational option that fulfills the requirement of regular school attendance. Parents have the freedom to determine their child’s educational path and plan for achieving their goals. Students can explore and learn at their own pace, in any place, at any time.

KShield helps screen children from birth to eleven years old and supports families who want to homeschool their children to ensure they are on track in their development and receive the support they need.

KShield School Readiness

For kids ages 3 - 5 ½ years

The KShield School Readiness is a comprehensive online assessment service operated by AC&A’s Early Intervention Team to assess the preschool and kindergarten readiness of children ages 3 to 5 ½ years.

This new developmental screening service is extremely accessible and highly effective in capturing children’s strengths and weaknesses to identify those who may benefit from more intensive screening to address potential developmental difficulties/delays.

KShield Academics

For kids ages 5 - 11+ years

KShield Academics provides parents/caregivers with specific, direct, and understandable information about their child while assessing gross and fine motor skills, communication, cognition/thinking and reasoning, sensory and social-emotional development, and pre-literacy and reading skills.

Educational Intervention Screening

For kids ages 5 - 11+ years

Educator Intervention Screening (EIS) is an extension of KShield Academics and targets pre-literacy and literacy skills based on the Common Core Standards. Our special educators use progress monitoring through data collection to provide intensive reading interventions to strengthen areas identified as areas of concern(s) through our Education Intervention Screening measure.

Educational Intervention Plan of Action

For kids ages 5 - 11 years

The Educator Intervention Plan of Action (EIPA) is intentionally modeled after the Response to Intervention (RtI) – a multi-pronged approach used in public education nationwide to support early identification of students with learning needs

Response to Intervention (RtI) is an approach to academic intervention used to provide early, systematic, and appropriately intensive help to children who are at risk for and/or underperforming as compared to appropriate grade or age-level standards.

Like RtI, the Educator Intervention Plan of Action aims to promote academic success through screening, early intervention, frequent progress monitoring, and increasingly intensive, research-based instruction or intervention for children with academic difficulties.
